Amateur radio is an amazing hobby, but who wants to be stuck inside on a beautiful day? It's time to take your HAM shack in a backpack! Get active and relax in the sun, breath fresh air and enjoy a beautiful view while communicating with people in distant lands (or even at sea) using your low power radio transceiver. You will meet people near and far. Those who are curious will certainly ask you what you are up to, so expect some attention where you set up!
RadioSet-GO specializes in converting or retrofitting low power/QRP amateur radio transceivers in ways that enhance their functionality, appearance, and portability. RSG designs are ideal for casual enjoyment, but are also suited for emergency situations as 'go-kits.' The enclosures used are water resistant and solar charging can be integrated. Built-in touch keys make it possible to send code accurately and fast. These are a few of the common features available with RSG designs.
I know from the experience of outdoor operating that the less there is to take along, the easier and faster it is to set up, and less chance of forgetting something essential. With these radios, the only extra equipment needed to make contacts is a resonant wire antenna, or antenna/tuner combination.

"Lately I had another interesting experience with a QRP stn. It was a boy scout traveling with his canoe or collapsible boat on a lonely river in the Canadian woods. His TRX had also less than 5 Watts. He was keen to pass a message to his girlfriend in Ohio. Because of some reasons he could not get her with his mobile phone. So he gave me her email address and I passed the message to her. All was done in a few minutes. She was extremely delighted to hear a sign of life from him. I really could feel that because after she wrote me a long letter about the special circumstances. Next day he was on the same frequency and I could make him happy with a "love letter" from Ohio via Germany to the Canadian wilderness." - Hartmut, DK2SC
